Create Your Embroidery Designs With Free Resources
First, let me explain; you will probably think that I click a button and Abra Kadabra, my Design is on the desired cloth. That’s not going to happen; you must put some effort into it. I’m going to explain to you how to use your machine for the greater good.
Making your designs is like putting your thoughts on a piece of cloth and then wearing your dreams and, on the other hand, simply placing the configuration and doing everyday business with it. There are some Embroidery Machines that are specially made for Custom Designing.
By following the steps I will explain to you, you can also design your logos or animation designs on a particular piece of cloth with .minimal effort. So that when you wear it in your office or even at a party, your fellows will say, “looking, sharp man.”
Free Digitalizing Software
You cannot say, “hey, my embroidery machine, place this design on that cloth chop-chop.” That is impossible because you cannot directly command a machine. After all, it has its language and an operating system, termed digitalizing software.
Let me show you a list of free digitalizing software you can use to command your Digital Embroidery Machine.
- By Editor
- Brother Embroidery Software
As per my experience, these software’s are easy and best to use.
These software’s also supports different file formats like PNG. JPEG. BMP. TIFF etc.
Steps to Digitalize your Design
- Upload desired Design into the software
- Setup the Size of the Design
- Choose a specific Stich Type
- Give Directions
- Choose the thread Colors
- Transfer the end file to your machine
- Prepare your machine to Design
- Test the End Result
Upload Desired Design Into The Software
The first easy step is to copy and paste the Design into the software and make changes like removing the background etc.
Setup The Design Size
Then you need to give it a size or some dimensions. Like your logo or Design will appear in what ratio on your product. So, do this step wisely by doing some measurements. The Design will appear exactly according to the size you have set in the software.
Choose Your Stich Type
There are a lot of stitch types that you need to consider before selecting one. The stitch type depends upon the type of fabric you are using. Some materials are light, some are hard to bear the threading, and some even have elasticity.
Also, stitch type is for making different styles like text designs. Stain Stich is used, and a straight stitch style is selected for shading and outlining. So, choose it according to your need.
Now the stitch type is set, you have to give directions. Some people skip this step, but I want you to focus because I will save you a lot of trouble if you are a beginner.
The directions are guidelines that you give to the machine where to start and where to stop because this step is required in making a smooth texture or even contours and shapes. So, do it wisely.
Choose The Thread Colors
For this step, you can also use the color guide that most basic embroidery machines have in them. You can select the color but do some matching of the Panton before. Then just select it from the color bar.
Transfer The End File To Your Machine
Now it’s time to convert the file from the embroidery software you are using into a format your machine supports, like Dst. Exp. Bmp. Tiff. Etc. In addition, use a flash drive or a USB for transferring the file.
Prepare Your Machine To Design
Now the next step is to make your machine understand your dreams. Give proper instructions to your device, like adjusting the size of your company logo or brand. You can change it in the loop or the frame where you wish to place the Design.
You can give it proper colors and directions or even resize the logo so it appears as you desire, and finally, hit the end button to stitch.
Test The End Result
Now, this is a pro tip I will give you. Do not immediately print the Design; it might go wrong or could not meet your desires.
Take a simple piece of fabric and start printing it little by little. Test it again and again, a few times, until it meets your expectations.
Once you think it starts to meet your imaginary results, then hit the button and give your dream design a reality shape.
