Create Your Own Embroidery Designs
First, let me explain you will probably thinking that I just click a button and Abra Kadabra, my design is on the desired cloth. That’s not gonna happen you have to put some effort in it like I’m going to explain you how by using your Branded Embroidery Machine.
Making your own designs is like putting your thoughts on a piece of cloth and then wearing your own dreams. On the other hand, simply just placing the design and doing everyday business with it. There are some Embroidery Machines that are specially made for Custom Designing.
By following the steps, that I am going to explain to you, you can also design your own logos or animation designs on a particular piece of cloth with .minimal effort. So that when you wear it in your office or even on a party, your fellows will say “looking sharp man”.
The first thing you need is the digitalizing software.
Free Digitalizing Software
You cannot say, “hey, my embroidery machine place this design on that cloth chop chop.” That is not possible because you cannot directly give a command to a machine because it has its own language and an operating system and that operating system is termed as a digitalizing software.
Let me show you a list of free digitalizing software that you can use to command your Digital Embroidery Machine. Moreover, if you are a beginner then you can checkout Beginner Level Embroidery Machines.
- My Editor
- Brother Embroidery Software
As per my experience, these software are easy and best to use.
These software also support different file formats like PNG. JPEG. BMP. TIFF etc.
Steps to Digitalize your own Design
- Upload desired design into the software
- Setup the Size of Design
- Choose a specific Stich Type
- Give Directions
- Choose the thread Colors
- Transfer the end file to your machine
- Prepare your machine to Design
- Test the End Result
Upload Desired Design into the Software
First easy step is to simply copy and paste the design into the software and do some changes like remove the background etc.
Setup the Size of Design
Then you need to give it a size or some dimensions. Like your logo or design will appear in what ratio on your product. So, do this step wisely by doing some measurements. The design will appear exactly according to the size you have set in the software.
Choose a Specific Stich Type
There are a lot of stich types that you need to consider before selecting it. The stich type depends upon the type of fabric you are using. Some fabrics are light and some are hard that can bear the threading and even some have elasticity in it.
Also stich type is for making different styles like for text designs Stain Stich is used and for shading along with outlining a straight stich style is selected. So, choose it according to your need.
Now the stich type is set, you have to give directions. Some people skip this step but I want you to focus because if you are a beginner I’m going to save you a lot of trouble.
The directions are guidelines that you give to the machine where to start and where to stop because this step is required in making of a smooth texture or even contours and shapes. So, do it wisely.
Choose the Thread Colors
For this step you can also use the color guide that most of the basic embroidery machines also have in them. You can select the color but do some matching of the Panton before. Then simply just select it from the color bar.
Transfer the End File to Your Machine
Now it’s time to convert the file from the embroidery software you are using into a format that your machine supports like Dst. Exp. Bmp. Tiff. etc.
In addition, for transferring the file use some flash drive or a USB you have.
Prepare Your Machine to Design
Now the next step is to make your machine understand your dreams. Give proper instructions to your machine like adjust the size of your company logo or brand. You can do it with adjusting it in the loop or the frame in which you are wishing to place the design.
You can give it proper colors, directions or even resize the logo so that it appear as you desired and finally hit the end button to stich.
Test the End Result
Now this a pro tip that I am going to give you. Do not immediately print the design it can might go a little bit wrong or could not meet your desires.
For this just take a simple piece of fabric and start printing it a little by little. Test it again and again for a few times until it meets your expectations.
Once you think it starts to meet your imaginary results then hit the button and give your dream design a reality shape.
